Round 5 …. DONE

February 13, 2021

YOU GUYS, I am done with 5 rounds of chemo and rituxan!! If you can’t tell, I am very excited. 🤩 Next month will be my last treatment round and will be fully done! I will also share the new workout equipment arrival, the MIRROR!

The first day of round 5 started with me seeing my doctor to have a follow-up from round 4. He did confirm that the March 2021 treatment would be my last one. Which made me very very happy. 😃 As well, after my last round, I will have a PET scan as to determine if the lymphoma is still active. Based on my PET scan from December 2020, the lymphoma was none to minimal activity.

I then went downstairs for infusion and waited hardly anything to get into the infusion chair which was a first. THEN, the nurse that came over to set my IV did it in the first try. I thought it would be a good round.

But rituxan never fails, the injection was given and within 10 minutes the area got red. 🤦🏽‍♀️ The nurse kept an eye on it while the chemo dose ended. By the end, they asked if it was itchy or if I felt any other symptoms. I didn’t so they let me go and just to take Benadryl if it became itchy. Day 2 of round 5 was even more straightforward. I was in and out of the Moores Cancer Center within an hour.

I was feeling like this month I would not have any side effects as things had gone “smoothly”. But again, I was wrong! The nausea set in Friday night. My goodness I never get used to it. I keep saying, I have no idea how pregnant women deal with morning sickness for months. The weekend wasn’t the funnest and until Wednesday (so almost a week after treatment) did I feel better.

I also wanted to share my new workout equipment that I actually own from Instagram. 🙌🏽 It is The MIRROR. It is a super sleek mirror that you use to workout. Let me tell you how I won, as you probably have seen, IG influencers during the holidays were doing giveaways of different items. I decided to entire the one for the mirror but in the back of my mind I didn’t think I would win. The Friday after Christmas I get a message on IG that I had won the MIRROR. I was super surprised 😱 but very excited! I connected with the influencers on getting the MIRROR delivered to me. It did take a month so when it got to my house I was so giddy. It has been 2 weeks that I received and started using it and it is super cool because it has so many different workouts for all levels (which has been awesome). 💪🏽🧘🏽‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️

I am ready to be done with chemo and immunotherapy! I will be documenting my last round and share a video with you all in the next month. As always, THANK YOU for the support and love you give to me. I have no other words as I am so full of hope, love and joy knowing I am surrounded by amazing people that care. ❤️

Until next month, WEAR YOUR MASK, SAFE LIVES! 😷
