The month of March 2020 was the beginning of the most bizarre time in our lives. The world was hit with a worldwide pandemic – COVID-19! This virus kept us at home, quarantined and living life (inside).
We have been quarantined for the last three months and working from home. The last three months have not been easy, especially for me living alone, only with Penelope. I MISS PEOPLE!
At the beginning, it took some time to adjust with waking up and going to work (at my kitchen table) versus going into the office. Penelope was super excited to have me home ALL THE TIME! Me on the other hand, not so much. I missed being around people, my wonderful team, getting to talk to them and learn new things from those around me. The only noise was from the TV, the neighbors and Penelope barking at those neighbors and the amazon deliver person. Oh boy!
But I can’t forget the people on the zoom calls, oh the zoom calls!!! 😅 Who knew that zooming would take over your life 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. This is coming from someone that loves technology. LOL!
As the week went by, I started to realize that I needed to schedule my day-to-day. I couldn’t continue with just waking up, working and laying on the couch, everyday.
I started doing Pilates and Barre3 classes at home a few times a week and that helped with the day-to-day. It allowed me to destress from the work stress and quarantine. I was not one of those that started the sour dough kit or baked constantly (haha) but I did start planning my day-to-day (at least from Monday – Friday) to see what I was going to do. Having a plan/schedule allowed me to feel a lot more structured (I am a Virgo after all).
The way I started planning/scheduling was by using the the start today journal and priority planner from Rachel Hollis (you can find at Target, the ones I am using are below) that helped me pick one goal and plan how I was going to accomplish that goal. And FYI – the goal I picked was setting up this website so I think it was a GREAT SUCCESS!! ❤️❤️. I am not saying you need to use these products but they helped me stay organized and focused during this quarantine time.
Now that we are in July 2020, I feel a lot better being at home, I ended up creating a “office space” at my apartment, so my work-life balance has boundary.
As COVID-19 continues and the lack of a vaccine, I have to share that getting yourself a schedule or plan on what your day will look like, will. make the time go by super fast. You will always feel very productive!
One last thing, PLEASE SAVE LIVES, WEAR YOUR MASKS! My family social distancing and wearing our masks. 🙏🏼 😷 ❤️
